전남 기업, CES 혁신상 5개 부문 석권…글로벌 기술 경쟁력 입증

전라남도 혁신기업 4개 사가 오는 2026년 1월 미국 라스베이거스에서 열리는 세계 최대 가전·IT 전시회 ‘CES 2026’에서 총 5개 부문 ‘CES 혁신상’을 수상하며 전남 기술의 국제적 위상을 높였다.

이는 전남 기업 역대 최대 수상 실적이다.

‘CES 혁신상’은 미국소비자기술협회(CTA)가 제품의 디자인, 기능성, 사용자 편의성, 시장성 등을 종합 평가해 혁신성과 기술력을 인정한 제품에 수여하는 글로벌 권위 기술상이다.

매년 36개 분야에서 수상작을 선정하며, 세계 기술 트렌드를 선도하는 척도로 평가된다.

전남도는 올해 초부터 기업별 기술 특성과 제품 포지션을 분석해 ‘1대1 맞춤형 수상 전략 컨설팅’을 집중 지원했다.

CES 심사 기준 분석, 기술 스토리 구조화, 영문 피칭 자료·시연 영상 제작 등 실전 중심 준비 체계를 구축한 결과, ㈜아이아이에스티, ㈜뉴작, ㈜고려오트론, ㈜터빈크루 등 4개 사가 수상의 쾌거를 이뤘다.

특히, ㈜아이아이에스티는 인공지능 기반 재난 감지 시스템 ‘ARGUS-D’로 AI 분야와 인간안보 분야에서 동시에 수상하며 산업현장 안전과 도시 재난 대응 기술의 가능성을 입증했다.

㈜뉴작은 확장현실(XR) 공간 컴퓨팅 기술로 수상, 전남 기업 최초로 CES 2025~2026 연속 수상 기록을 세웠다.

별도의 VR 장비 없이 현실 공간에서 체감형 콘텐츠를 구현할 수 있는 기술로 향후 몰입형 콘텐츠 시장 확대에 기여할 전망이다.

㈜고려오트론은 혈액 속 극미량 암세포를 실시간으로 정밀 분리·분석하는 디지털 헬스케어 기술로, ㈜터빈크루는 드론·스마트폴·원격 제어 기술을 결합한 농장·시설물 자동 모니터링 시스템으로 각각 건설·산업기술 분야에서 혁신성을 인정받았다.

지난해 1개 기업이 2개 부문 수상에 그쳤던 것과 비교하면, 수상 기업과 분야 모두 크게 증가하며 전남 기업의 글로벌 경쟁력과 기술 성장세가 한층 강화된 것으로 평가된다.

전남도는 CES 2026 기간 동안 수상 기업을 포함한 지역 12개 기업과 함께 ‘전남관’을 운영하며, 글로벌 벤처캐피탈(VC) 초청 기업설명회(IR), 해외 바이어 상담회, 현지 홍보 연계 프로그램 등을 집중 추진할 계획이다.

김영록 전남도지사는 “CES 혁신상 수상은 전남 기업 기술력이 글로벌 시장에서도 경쟁력을 인정받고 있음을 보여준다.”며 “전남도는 데이터센터·AI 컴퓨팅센터 등 미래 산업 기반을 지속 확장하고, 이번 성과가 수출 확대와 투자 유치로 이어지도록 끝까지 지원하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Jeonnam Companies Sweep Five CES Innovation Awards, Demonstrating Global Technological Competitiveness
Four innovative companies from Jeonnam Province have been selected to receive a total of five CES Innovation Awards at the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition, CES 2026, scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, USA, in January 2026, elevating the international standing of Jeonnam technology.
This marks the largest number of awards ever achieved by companies from Jeonnam.
The CES Innovation Awards, presented annually by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), recognize products for their innovation and technological excellence based on overall evaluation of design, functionality, user experience, and market potential. Awards are selected across 36 categories each year and serve as a benchmark for global technology trends.
Since early this year, Jeonnam Province has provided tailored one-on-one award strategy consulting for each company, analyzing their technological strengths and product positioning.
Through practical preparations including CES judging criteria analysis, structured storytelling of technology, and production of English-language pitching materials and demonstration videos, four companies—IIST Co., Ltd., Newjak Co., Ltd., Korea Otron Co., Ltd., and Turbine Crew Co., Ltd.—achieved this notable success.
Specifically, IIST Co., Ltd. received awards in both the AI and Human Security categories for its AI-based disaster detection system, ARGUS-D, demonstrating the potential of its technology for industrial safety and urban disaster response.
Newjak Co., Ltd. was recognized for its Extended Reality (XR) spatial computing technology, becoming the first Jeonnam company to achieve consecutive CES awards for 2025–2026. Its technology enables immersive content experiences in real spaces without the need for separate VR headsets, expected to drive the expansion of the immersive content market.
Korea Otron Co., Ltd. received recognition for its digital healthcare technology, capable of isolating and analyzing trace amounts of cancer cells in real-time from blood samples. Meanwhile, Turbine Crew Co., Ltd. was selected in the Construction & Industrial Technology category for its automated monitoring system that integrates drones, smart poles, and remote control technology for farms and facilities.
Compared to last year, when only one company received awards in two categories, both the number of award-winning companies and categories have increased significantly, highlighting the strengthened global competitiveness and technological growth of Jeonnam companies.
During CES 2026, Jeonnam Province will operate a “Jeonnam Pavilion” with 12 local companies, including the award winners, and will actively promote programs such as investor relations (IR) sessions with global venture capitalists (VCs), overseas buyer consultations, and local promotion events.
Governor Kim Young-rok stated, “Receiving the CES Innovation Awards demonstrates that the technological capabilities of Jeonnam companies are recognized in the global market. Jeonnam Province will continue to expand future industry foundations, including data centers and AI computing centers, and ensure that this achievement translates into increased exports and investment attraction.”
