A van and a 1-ton truck collided at an intersection in Sinbuk-myeon, Yeongam County, leaving the van driver injured and causing a fire in the vehicle.
According to local media reports reviewed on Sept. 23, the accident occurred at around 5:15 a.m. on Sept. 22 at an intersection in Sinbuk-myeon. The driver of the van sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.
Following the collision, a fire broke out in the van’s engine compartment. Fire authorities responded to the scene, and property damage was estimated at approximately KRW 36 million.
Footage of the accident scene released by Mokpo MBC showed the van stopped along the roadside with significant damage to its front section.
Police said they believe the van collided with the 1-ton truck while the van was making a left turn and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
