아시안게임 국가대표로 차출됐던 KIA 타이거즈의 김도영·박재현·성영탁이 돌아왔다. 주축 선수들의 공백 속에서도 4위를 지킨 KIA는 남은 12경기에서 3위 LG 트윈스 추격에 나선다.

가장 큰 관심은 김도영의 타격감이다. 김도영은 올 시즌 대표팀 차출 전까지 123경기에서 타율 0.310, 40홈런, 102타점을 기록했다. 다만 아시안게임에서는 6경기 24타수 6안타로 기대에 못 미쳤다. 김도영은 귀국 후 몸 상태는 괜찮다면서 남은 시즌을 위해 가능한 한 빨리 타격감을 되찾겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.

박재현의 복귀는 외야 수비와 주루 운용의 폭을 넓혀줄 수 있다. 성영탁이 합류하면 불펜에도 활용할 투수가 늘어난다. 성영탁은 아시안게임 홍콩전에서 구원 등판해 1이닝을 퍼펙트로 막았다. 다만 세 선수의 실제 선발 출전 시점과 복귀 직후 경기력은 구단의 선수 운용과 경기 결과를 통해 확인해야 한다.

남은 경기 승수를 단순 계산하면 KIA가 12경기에서 6승 6패를 거둘 경우 78승, 8승 4패면 80승, 9승 3패면 81승으로 정규시즌을 마친다. 이는 경기 결과에 따른 시나리오이며, 3위 진입에 필요한 승수가 확정됐다는 뜻은 아니다. LG의 남은 경기 성적도 함께 봐야 한다.

KIA는 29일 오후 6시 30분 광주에서 선두 KT 위즈와 경기를 치를 예정이다. 대표팀 선수들의 복귀가 실제 승수로 이어질지, 김도영이 타격감을 얼마나 빨리 회복할지가 정규시즌 막판 KIA의 순위를 가를 전망이다.

The arithmetic for KIA’s final 12 games is straightforward: a 6–6 finish would give it 78 wins, an 8–4 finish would bring 80, and a 9–3 finish would bring 81. These are scenarios, not a fixed target for reaching third place. LG’s results will also determine the final standings.
KIA is scheduled to face league-leading KT Wiz in Gwangju at 6:30 p.m. on September 29. Whether the returning players can help turn close games into wins—and how quickly Kim regains his batting form—will be central to KIA’s late-season push.
